Hello,

I hope you are well and safe. I know you, like myself, are doing your best at this time and are struggling, so I have a question for you.

Have we got a better plan than what has been presented by the Government?

Vaccines will take time to roll-out and by all accounts, it won't be until the Summer or Autumn by the time myself and my family is protected. Until then, I believe we can be more ambitious about driving down the cases in my community. I'm one of the million people who believe the Government's reaction to the current Coronavirus outbreak is not sufficient and I am part of the majority who believe Ireland should only re-open when daily cases are below 20.

So how will we get there? The Living with Covid plan did not work and I don't believe in the new refreshed old plan.

It is locking us away and it lacks ambition. I believe We Can Be Zero with key measures put in place:

1. Safe and supported quarantine for people arriving into the country.
2. Supports for those who need to isolate.
3. Resources for public health experts.
4. Ensuring all non-essential employers facilitated working from home.
5. Empower local communities to remain free of Covid and create green zones.

We believe we can do this across our shared islands, but we can start in the Republic.

We are a great country and we will get out the other side, but we need leadership today. Leadership does not assume one plan will always work, but instead provides options and alternatives.
